How The Trinity Test Poster was Created:
I started this one out by sketching Robert Oppenheimer’s words, “I am become death, destroyer of worlds” out and then scanning them. Once I vectorized the type I began playing illustrator with different ways to present the text. After creating a composition I liked, I copied the vectors into Photoshop and added the texture.

Why I created the Trinity Test Poster:
One of the eeriest videos I’ve ever seen is Robert Oppenheimer’s comments reflecting on the detonation of the first nuclear bomb in 1945. He quotes the Bhagavad Gita, the Hindu scripture, by saying, “I am become death, destroyer of worlds.” The words alone are ominous enough, but in the video you can see the deep sadness and remorse on Oppenheimer’s face.

Facts about Robert Oppenheimer:
Robert Oppenheimer is often called, “The Father of the Atomic Bomb”, because of his work with the Manhattan Project to develop the first Nuclear Weapon. After the Trinity Test in 1945, Robert spent a great deal of time trying to convince politicians to discontinue the development of nuclear weapons to avoid an arms race with the Soviet Union. Because of his adamant position regarding Nuclear bombs and his suspected connections to the communist party, Oppenheimer had his security clearance revoked and had a private hearing in 1953. In 2009 it was confirmed that Oppenheimer was never involved in espionage based on analysis of KGB notebooks. Read more about Robert Oppenheimer on Wikipedia.
